Longcat releases H3D for ProTools

H3D binaural mixing now available on ProTools systems

Longcat Audio Technologies has announced today that they updated H3D, their 3D audio binaural plugin for Digital Audio Workstations, to version 1.1.2 on Windows and Mac OS X. This update adds ProTools (RTAS) support on Windows and and Mac OS X, supports samplerates up to 192kHz, enhances the H3D process transparency, and fixes general stability issues for both platforms.

Aimed at musicians, sound designers or podcasts producers, Longcat’s H3D inserts in major audio software (such as ProTools, Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Cubase, Live, Pyramix or Reaper), and allows the user to create immersive 3D mixes for headphones, by visually animating a large number of audio tracks in a full-3D interface.

Object-based 3D audio gets more accessible and more transparent

Longcat Audio Technologies has announced today the 1.2 update of AudioStage, their 3D audio authoring and mixing software.

Ideal for movie and music postproduction, AudioStage allows to visually place and animate audio tracks as 3D objects in totally editable environments.

This updated version can now be used with Ableton Live, Adobe Audition, FL Studio, and is compatible with latest versions of Avid ProTools, Merging Pyramix, Steinberg Nuendo or Apple Logic Pro.

  • More accessible pricings: AudioStage now starts at 299 euros!
  • Better compatibility: AudioStage is compatible with the upcoming Mac OS X Lion, and was tested with a wide selection of VST, RTAS or AudioUnits hosts.
  • Better quality for 3D audio: H3D and S3D renderings were revised in order to add less coloration to processed sounds.
  • More surround channels: AudioStage Surround now allows mixes up to 7+1 channels

AudioStage can mix a large amount of multichannel tracks in complex, user-definable and automatable 3D environments while beneficing from a comprehensive choice of simultaneous spatialization techniques (including stereo, binaural, stereo3D, surround, Ambisonics and VBAP), outputting up to 64 channels mixes on standard or 3D loudspeakers layouts.
